As the British Kebab Awards prepares to celebrate its 15th anniversary, food lovers across the country are being invited to show their support for the businesses that have helped make kebabs one of Britain’s most popular foods.
The awards, which have become one of the most recognised events in the UK’s hospitality calendar, celebrate the businesses and entrepreneurs who have helped transform the kebab industry into one of Britain’s biggest food success stories.
Founded by Ibrahim Dogus, a former waiter who went on to become a successful restaurateur, the British Kebab Awards has spent the past 15 years recognising independent takeaways, family-run restaurants, local institutions and innovative businesses that consistently deliver outstanding food, service and hospitality.
With nominations now open, members of the public have the opportunity to support the businesses they believe deserve national recognition.
The milestone anniversary will feature a number of high-profile events, beginning with the announcement of this year’s semi-finalists at an exclusive reception hosted by the Speaker of the House of Commons at Speaker’s House in the Palace of Westminster on 8 September, 2026.
The reception will bring together parliamentarians, industry leaders, sponsors and invited guests to celebrate the businesses that have progressed to the next stage of the competition.
The winners will then be revealed at the 15th British Kebab Awards Gala Dinner on 23 February 2027, at the Park Plaza Westminster Hotel in London.
Organisers say the anniversary edition is expected to be the biggest awards ceremony in the event’s history, attracting hundreds of restaurant owners, suppliers, politicians, media representatives and hospitality professionals from across the UK.
Interest in tables is already high, with organisers expecting another sell-out event.
Ibrahim Dogus said the awards continue to celebrate the hardworking people behind one of the country’s great hospitality success stories.
“For 15 years, the British Kebab Awards has celebrated the entrepreneurs, family businesses and hardworking people who have helped make the kebab industry one of Britain’s great hospitality success stories,” he said.
The public can submit nominations online, with every vote helping determine which businesses make it through to the final stages of the competition.
Over the years, the awards have grown far beyond a celebration of food, becoming a platform that highlights the economic, cultural and social contribution of the UK’s kebab industry.
With the landmark 15th edition now underway, organisers are hoping to make this year’s celebration their biggest and most memorable yet.
